Following a new notice on Tuesday from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the present cold spell in Karachi will continue for a few more days.
Tomorrow (Wednesday), according to the Met Office, a westerly wave is predicted to hit North Balochistan, causing rain and snow to fall in different regions of the province.
In areas affected by this weather system, Quetta, Zhob, Barkhan, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Nokkundi, Dalbandin, Harnai, Qilla Saifullah, Qilla Abdullah, Muslim Bagh, Kalat, Khuzdar, Turbat, Panjgur, and the Makran coast are predicted to have sporadic rainfall on January 18 and 19.
The fresh wave of cold, which might begin in Karachi on January 21 as a result of showers in Balochistan and last over the weekend, was warned off by chief meteorologist Dr. Sardar Sarfaraz. During this time, the temperature is expected to drop to below zero.
Tuesday's low temperature of 9 degrees Celsius was noted, while the humidity level climbed to 30%.
